Frenchie Cocktail

I am holding onto summer as long as I can. It feels like it just began and now it is almost over. But it is not over, till it's over and I am not letting go. We had our first real warm summer in a long time since moving to Oakland from SF and I am loving it. The weather doesn't change too much here in the fall, but it is those long warm summer days that I am going to miss. Do you know what else happens on long warm summer days? Long delicious summer cocktails on our deck, like this Frenchie cocktail which is oh so delicious. I had my first taste of this delicious cocktail back when we were in Montana and fell in love. It is a mix of gin, St. Germain, limoncello and grapefruit juice. Delicious and perfectly light and crisp for a summer evening.  In addition to gin, I am seriously crushing on St. Germain these days. Have you ever had it? It is a liquor made from elderflower and has a bright and fragrant flavor.  The Frenchie gets its name from the British who way back when decided to name the drink Frenchie because it had St. Germain in it, which is French. I added limoncello which is Italian so what do we call it now? I am going to go with just delicious. Mix those in with some gin and tart grapefruit juice and you have the ultimate summer cocktail -light,  crisp and refreshing. Hopefully you can enjoy a couple over these last days of summer before we fall headfirst into fall.

Enjoy!
